Custom built-ins not only look great, they can offer better use of existing space, add additional functionality and increase the value of your home. The two main types of built-ins I design are freestanding and permanent. Both types utilize modular construction techniques and concealed joinery. The freestanding units are usually smaller in scale and "portable", in the sense that they can be disassembled and taken with you if you move. Permanent built-ins are custom fit to the space and are tied into the existing moldings and trim; they become part of the house.
Built-ins can be painted to match the existing interior colors, or made from any choice of wood/stains. Below are examples of some of the built-ins I've built, detailing some of the unique features I've incorporated into the designs.
